Why Soft-Tissue Injuries Get Undervalued — and How to Fix It
Reviewed by a licensed registered nurse on the C2N clinical team
Soft-tissue injuries are the most common outcome of a collision and the most commonly discounted. Because they often do not appear on an X-ray, adjusters treat them as subjective.
Clinically, that is wrong. Range-of-motion measurements, therapy notes, pain scales over time, and functional limitations form an objective record when they are captured consistently.
A nurse-led review looks for exactly that consistency: whether care started promptly, whether the treatment plan matches the reported symptoms, and whether progress was charted.
Where the record is thin, the fix is usually simple — continue documented care and make sure your providers record function, not just pain.
